Garden
clocks can be wonderful additions to your home garden. Yes, the
most important part of your garden may be the flowers or vegetables
that you plant, but a great garden clock can be that perfect added
touch to finish off all of your hard work. Also, a garden clock
is a great way to keep track of time while you are doing all of
that hard work! There are many different types of garden clocks.
Perhaps one of the most common types of garden “clocks”
is a sundial. Quite obviously, the perfect place for a sundial is
out in your garden - it certainly will not work as well inside
your living room. Many sundials come on beautiful pedestal stands
that make them perfect centerpieces to your garden.
A sundial shows you the time by tracking the movement of the sun.
The sundial and the sun work together to cast a shadow on the flat
surface of the sundial which is marked with the hours of the day.
Garden clocks come in many other forms besides a sundial, of course.
There garden clocks that look just as classy and beautiful as your
indoor clocks, except that they are sturdier. Garden clocks are
weatherproof. That means that you do not need to worry about taking
your garden clock indoors just because there is a storm. It also
means that you can keep a garden clock by the pool without worrying
about it getting splashed, as it surely will.
You can find radio controlled atomic garden clocks and also garden
clocks with quartz clock movements. Practically any type of clock
movement that you would want in an indoor clock can be found in
a garden clock. And remember, these garden clocks will be fully
sealed to protect them from the weather.
You can take your garden clock one step further and get a garden
clock that also has a thermometer and/or barometer. And why not
be able to tell the humidity with your garden clock?
Garden clocks also come in a variety of styles. You can find garden
clocks with simple faces, or garden clocks that have interesting
graphics on them, like water or beach scenes or flowers, or whatever.
You can even find garden clocks that display a garden on the clock
face… why not?
