 The
nice thing about square wall clocks is that they are not the most
common of styles, but they are only a little different—not
like “what planet did you come from?’ different. They
can be simple, a bit unusual or very trendy. The best thing about
square wall clocks is that they are popular enough right now that
you don’t have to look hard to find that perfect clock.
Some of them are as simple as can be. Just like your common round
wall clock, they have plain white faces and black frames with black
hands. But if you want to add some color. I have found that square
wall clocks come in several color combinations that may help bring
out your home or office décor without calling too much attention
to its self. If you want a nice clock to fit the colors of your
room, that does not have to be the center of attention, you can
get stylish and simple with square wall clocks.
For example, my kitchen is mostly white and green. I have an ivy
plant and ivy stenciled around the walls. My square wall clock in
that room is not the center of attention, in fact it blends right
in with the rest of the décor. It has a plain white face,
with a green frame, black hands and numbers, and a little ivy print
along the sides that matches my stencil on the walls. Unfortunately,
I was unable to find such a clock at my regular department store
in the home décor section. I had to go to a clock shop—but
the design is so simple and the materials so plain. My square wall
clock was fairly inexpensive and definitely worth the extra trip.
Square wall clocks can also be very elegant. My mother has two
unique square wall clocks, one made of marble and the other of sandstone.
These square wall clocks have been hand crafted for her home, as
I said one of marble and one of sandstone, the one made of marble
is framed in sterling silver with a maple leaf design embossed in
the sterling silver square shaped frame. The other square wall clock
is jagged on the edges—like a square-cut stone. These square
wall clocks are unique because marble has its own, natural pattern,
the exact pattern can never be duplicated. These are among the more
beautiful square wall clocks I have ever seen. The classic marble
square wall clock is gray and white, and goes perfectly in the guest
bedroom. The other, the sandstone square wall clock suits the den
quite nicely, again not drawing too much attention to its self.
There are also kids square wall clocks. Kids round wall clocks
come in so many decorative styles there is one out there to suit
the needs of any child’s room, playroom or nursery. The most
popular are round wall clocks featuring the childs favorite cartoon
or comic book characters. Disneys princesses, Spiderman, Mary Poppins,
Sully from Monsters Inc. etc. There are also square wall clock styles
for the older kids. With patterns of butterflies or horses or pictures
of their favorite rock bands, or just a plain old clock—but
square.
