Although
retro is from a time in the past, retro style is almost always “in”
in the present. This does not, however, include all retro items.
Poodle skirts have not, and do not deserve to, make a comeback.
The same is true of mullets.
The retro look does not simply extend to clothing and personal
style, the retro look extends to housewares and furniture and decorations.
Again, though, not everything retro is in. For instance, yellow
refrigerators are not “in.” Retro clocks, on the other
hand, are most definitely “in.”
When it comes to retro clocks, you can choose from practically
any decade (or century) and find a great retro clocks. Of course,
clocks that were made in the early 1900’s and before that
time are more likely antique clocks than retro clocks.
There are, however many great retro clocks from slightly more recent
times like the 1950s and 1940s and 1970s and other great decades.
The inner workings of retro clocks are different than the clocks
of today. They styles of retro clocks are different than the clocks
of today. Luckily, different is good - that is the best reason
to buy a retro clock in the first place.
It is possible to find retro clocks in thrift stores, antique shops,
and online at places like ebay. It may also be possible to find
the perfect retro clock in one of the boxes in your garage or at
your mother’s house. And if you can still not find the perfect
retro clock, you can likely find a new retro clock - a brand
new clock that is made in a retro style so that it looks like a
retro clock.
Clocks from different decades just have a certain kind of flair
that many clocks of today just do not have. There are electric retro
clocks that need to be plugged in your wall but never need to be
wound. There are modern retro clocks - clocks that were made
back in the day to mimic the styles of the future. Strangely, these
modern retro clocks fell short of the styles of today, but they
do represent a style completely all their own.
Many retro clocks from the 1950s and other eras experimented with
shapes and materials like no other decades in the past have (and
even the present decade has not). There are diamond retro clocks,
and retro clocks with interesting and bold patterns of metal.
If you are needed something to add a little extra flair to your
room, you should look into buying a retro clock. A retro clock can
be paired with retro furnishings, but it can just as easily be hung
up in a completely modern room. A retro clock can be that perfect
accent to your other wall hangings, or it can be the centerpiece
of your room. There are many different styles out there, but you
are sure to find for yourself the perfect retro clock.
