There
are so many types of clocks out there now, you might be overwhelmed
trying to find the perfect office clock. Lately the styles and shapes
and sizes and colors and designs of office clocks are all changing.
So what do you do?
Well, I guess the first question would be—what does your
office look like? You will, of course, need an office clock that
fits the overall motif. There are modern and unique clocks out there
that will draw a lot of attention to your timepiece. They are elegant,
abstract and stylish—but what are you going for?
If you want to keep the simple touch for your office clock, or
timepiece—if this is what will best suit the overall look
of your office design. I would recommend a round wall clock, with
a black frame and black hands, white background (or if you choose—a
different color to go with the room, and numbers or roman numerals.
A tiny bit more hip of a style of wall clock than this is the newer
square-shaped clock. Simple office clocks such as these can be jazzed
up slightly by choosing different colors for the hands, background
and frame. Always remember to choose a lighter colored background
and darker hands—or the opposite, a dark background with lighter
hands. You do not want yourself or your visitors to have to squint
to see the time.
There are also fancier wall clocks available to function as office
clocks, if you do happen to have a more complex or elegant motif
to your daily setting. You may be looking for office clocks for
your outer office, or for your private office space. There are office
clocks available made of marble, wood, granite and metals, as well
as other materials. If you are the artistic type or work for an
artsy company, there are unique and modern clocks that look like
they belong in an art museum. These office clocks are oddly shaped,
colorful, sometimes with dull colors and sometimes bright. If you
have a Picasso on the office wall such a clock could make a great
office clock.
Not everyone is lucky enough to find that perfect office clock
anywhere but in a store that specializes in selling clocks. For
instance one can have clocks hand craftedyou’re your office
made of granite, marble or stone. I have a granite office clock
that is framed in wood-stained burgundy. My office clock is unique
because the granite has its own, natural pattern, the exact pattern
of it can never be duplicated, it has stunning sparkling blue speckles
in it, some kind of natural rock that is part of the granite, combined
with the other natural blues and light grays.
The office clock we keep in the front room by the secretary’s
desk is a fossilized sandstone clock without a frame, jagged on
the edges—like cut stone. Inside the sandstone are real, ancient
fossils.
These are among the more beautiful office clocks, I think. A bit
more pricey, perhaps, but absolutely unique. There are also many
desktop clocks available as office clocks, often the best of which
are made of stained wood. The disadvantage of having a desktop clock
as your office clock, is that it may be placed in a position that
is difficult to see. However, if you have a mantel in your office—or
something of the like, a mantel or desktop clock could be perfect
for your office clock.
