What's
the difference between a desktop clock and a tabletop clock? Many
people want to know the answer to this question, because it seems
that there is no answer. A desktop is pretty much the same as a
tabletop - should not a desktop clock and a tabletop clock
be about the same, as well?
Yes, there are some clocks that can function both as a desktop
clock or a tabletop clock. Such a clock would look lovely on either
a desktop or a tabletop, and it would tell the time equally well
on either surface. Pretty much and tabletop clock can double as
a desktop clock, but it is not true that all desktop clocks can
double as tabletop clocks. How is this so?
What's the difference between a desktop clock and a tabletop clock?
First of all, both tabletop clocks and desktop clocks are clocks
that are meant to be set on flat surfaces - they are not to
be hung on walls. Also, desktop clocks and tabletop clocks are generally
beautiful on every facet, not just the side with the clock face,
because people may see them from multiple sides - they do
not always have their backs to the wall. Both desktop clocks and
tabletop clocks can generally be moved around fairly easily and
are three dimensional decorations like vases and bowls rather than
one-dimensional decorations like paintings and wall clocks.
So, what is the difference between a desktop clock and a tabletop
clock? Basically, a desktop clock may have more functions -
it may be more than a simple decoration and timepiece combo. A desktop
clock may have a place to hold business cards or pens. A desktop
clock may even have a photo frame attached to it. There are even
desktop clocks that double as rulers and weather clocks.
Desktop clocks often have multiple functions. People already have
enough trouble trying to keep their desks clutter-free. A desktop
clock can help with the clutter by having multiple functions. Tabletop
clocks do not need to have multiple functions (although, a tabletop
clock with a picture frame is a good idea).
So, what's the difference between a desktop clock and a tabletop
clock? The difference is in the functions. With a desktop clock,
there is the possibility of more functions than a tabletop clock
has.
