Wall ClocksHave you been wanting a new wall clock but just have not been able to find the right one? Well, then maybe you want to design your own! You can make your own wall clock that brings new meaning to the term wall clock.

Wall clocks can be clocks that you hang on your wall - but they can also be clocks that use the actual wall as a face. Here is how to make a built-in wall clock:

· Decide where you want to put your built-in wall clock. Think about putting your wall clock up relatively high so that the hands do not get damaged (the hands will not be enclosed by glass or anything like a regular wall clock).
· You must choose a spot on your wall for your wall clock that does not have a stud in the way or wiring or water pipes because you will be inserting the movement of the clock into the wall. Choose a location that is preferably on the other side of a closet, etc., because you will be inserting the movement of your wall clock from behind the wall.
· Drill a hole all the way through the wall.
· If your drill bit was not long enough to go all the ay through the wall - do some careful measurements and see where it would have come through.
· Create a square for the access hole (about 4”x4”) aligned to the clock movement. Drill four holes at the corners of the square - these holes will make it easier to remove the drywall.
· Now cut out the square by using a utility knife and a straight edge.
· Now you should be able to see the drill hole that you drilled from the other side.
· Install the clock movement following the manufacturer’s instructions.
· Now you want to cover up that ugly hole that you made on the other side of the wall. You should make an access door - this way you can get to the back of the clock to change the time and batteries in the future with ease.
· For the access door behind your wall clock, use a pair of self-closing flush mount cabinet hinges. Connect the hinges to a little door and too the wall
· You can decorate your wall clock however you want. You may enjoy having just the hands of your clock on your wall. Or, you may want to place numbers. You can even paint a beautiful face for your wall clock.

When making a built-in wall clock, be sure to be safe and to use the proper tools. Also remember to have fun with your wall clock.
