 Neon
clocks are clocks that popular in game rooms and diners across the
United States. People just love the glow that surrounds a neon clock.
What, though, exactly is “neon?”
Neon is actually an element. It is a colorless nearly inert noble
gas, but neon gives off a distinct reddish glow when used in vacuum
discharge tubes and neon lamps. Neon also has the most intense discharge
at normal voltages and currents of all the rare gases.
Because of the reddish-orange color that neon emits in vacuum tubes,
neon is widely used to make advertising signs. Even signs that use
a mix of other gases are still called “neon signs” because
of the common use of and popularity of neon in signs. Who does not
want a sign that lights up the night?
These are the basics of neon. Neon is also used in neon clocks.
Most neon clocks have a bit of a 50’s flair - this is
the time when they were probably most popular. Any great diner would
have a neon clock on the wall. Most neon clocks are basic round
wall clocks with a chrome case (or chromed plastic case) surrounding
it. Just inside to the chrome case is a neon light that lights of
the face.
Neon clocks come with a variety of faces. You can get a neon clock
with almost any 50’s icon or picture. There are Pepsi neon
clocks, jukebox neon clocks, Betty Boop neon clocks, superman neon
clocks, gas station neon clocks, automobile neon clocks, beer neon
clocks, café neon clocks, Mickey Mouse neon clocks, Elvis
neon clocks, and many other sorts of neon clocks.

find the perfect one for yourself or a friend to complete that game
room or other room that just needs that extra something. Why not
