 Clock
radios. It was a great day when somebody thought, “Why must
I always wake myself up with incessant beeping? Why can’t
I wake up to music?” Oh yes, the clock radio. Most modern
digital alarm clocks are clock radios.
These days, it is harder, thank goodness, to find an alarm clock
that only offers beeping for morning wake-ups. If you have a clock
radio, you can usually opt to have your alarm sound with music rather
than a blaring beeping noise. Or, if your clock radio has two alarm
settings, you can have your first alarm set to the radio so that
you can begin to wake with ease. Then you can set your second alarm
to the blaring beeping, just to makes sure that you can get up.
Clock radios are generally digital alarm clocks. Many clock radios
have large faces so that you can easily read the time, even when
you have sleep still in your eyes. Most clock radios have a snooze
button. The snooze button is, quite simply, a fantastic device.
When you have a snooze button on your clock radio, you can turn
off the alarm without really turning it off - you can get
that extra five or ten minutes of sleep and not have to worry about
waking up too late… your alarm will go off again… and
again (depending on how many times you decide to hit the snooze
button.
There are also some excellent, newer clock radios that use battery
backup. When a clock radio has battery backup, you do not have to
worry about sleeping in when there is a power outage - a clock
radio with batter back up will still beep or play music accordingly.
